Project:

"Evaluation regarding the thermal water management in the Molasse basin in Upper Austria from 2000 to 2005".
Currently there are nine sites in Upper Austria where thermal water is used for balneological and/or energetic purposes. The quinquennial reports as required by the water authority for the following six facilities with operating doublet (production and reinjection well) were evaluated with regard to water management:

  • Geothermal plant Altheim
  • Geothermal plant and thermal bath Geinberg
  • Geothermal plant Haag
  • Geothermal plant Obernberg
  • Geothermal plant Simbach-Braunau
  • Geothermal plant St. Martin

Activities:

  • Evaluation of quinquennial reports provided by the water authority for the above-mentioned geothermal plants
  • Supplemental data research (e.g.: Development and exploitation history, current utilisation, etc.)
  • Assessment of annual and quinquennial reports
  • Assessment regarding water management of the thermal water development
