Project:

Drilling of a deep well (depth: 2592 m) for the expansion of the existing geothermal Doublet Mehrnbach (Drillings Mehrnbach Th 1 and Th 2).

Exploitation of thermal waters (110 °C) from jointed Carbonates of the Upper Jurassic (Malm) in the Upper Austrian Molasse Basin and use for district heat supply.

The district heating network with a length of 35.3 km spans currently nearly the complete urban area of Ried im Innkreis. In 2018, 2524 connected sites (Flats, family homes and commercial sites) are supplied with 50.6 GWh heat.
